Yeah, today is Saturday!!! That means no acupuncture and more importantly no Dr. Pain!! Still get a massage and some time on the standing table and power bike.
Unfortunately Anglela observed Dr. Pain’s techinques and uses these new found skills to fill the idle moments in her day… and there are waayyyyy to many of those.
I have never mentioned the weather… it has been mostly warm and sunny until today, when there was a wicked wind storm (100km per hr).
We have made friends with some other patients and their families… and we have started a new competition… it is held in the kitchen and the object of the game is to kill the most flies in a day. Sam leads with 31 kills, Angela with a respectable 25 kills (she took a 4 hour shopping break)…Dennis is the scorekeeper!!!
Trying to keep ourselves amused,
Lyle, Angela & Dennis
Great attitude you all have!
Ryan suggests a more challenging competition, catching the flies with chopsticks!…….and then something about wax on, wax off ??????
Praying for all of you!
Love ya
Hi Buddy,
So is the prize for the competition, your Dad’s lovely fried potatoes? Hope he’s not collecting flies……
I’m glad you found something to entertain yourselves…So did you guys need some fly swatters …maybe Darren can bring?
Love ya
I can only imagine your laughs and smiles catching the flies. We are glad to hear you are having some fun. I hope you are doing well and getting better. Can’t wait to see you all back at home.
Hugs, kisses, prayers and lots of love for all of you.
Patricia
Hey Lyle,
Glad to hear you are keeping well! As for the flies, as you are dressed up as a porcupine in your new costume I hope you aren’t planning on taking all the scored flies and eating them, I know you miss our western food so much but hoefully not that much. When you get home you can stck that middle finger up at me as I win against you all in the fly-swat-athon.
Take care buddy!
-Greg and family.
Hey Lyle! Has nobody else picked up on the whole “Flied Potatoes: thing yet? Tell Dennis “Hi” from me and Liz-Anna and keep on keepin’ on… man.
this blog thing is pretty neat!
Ahhh. The fly killing game. One of my favorites (right up there with kicking stray dogs). I will let you all in on a secret way to give yourself an edge. What I usually do is put a dab of honey on my tongue and when the hapless bugs land for a snack I make like a venus flytrap. The little ones arent bad but sometimes the big ones can be a bit hard to swallow. Also if you put too much honey on your tongue you run the risk of attracting bears which could be dangerous. Oh and finally – don’t eat bees and wasps. All kidding aside I learned that one the hard way. Unless you like spicy food in which case the wasp is sort of like the ultimate hot pepper.
Thanks for keeping the journal. I am glad that everything seems to be going so well from the sounds of things. Everyone here is waiting for you to come back in to work!
See you soon, Bud. Lots of love to everyone there with you (yeah I don’t really know anyone but love never hurt anyone…well platonic love anyways)
Hi Son.
Just to add my touch to the “FLY THING”….this is one time when none of us would like to be a fly-on-the-wall!!! Teehee
Can’t wait for you to come home…..counting the days too!
Take care
Love You
