Just a note to give you an update… add to the needle count 16 yesterday and 14 today… I love acupuncture!!! It was also the best Halloween costume I could come up with on short-notice.
We finally have instituted a schedule for my treatments. Now we know exactly how long we will be sitting around doing nothing until the next treatment. I MISS HOME COOKED FOOD (AND SO DOES ANGELA AND DENNIS). Dad bought potatoes and fried them up… I never thought fried potatoes could taste so good…I think Angela agreed. If you’re wondering how bad it could be, imagine Chinese made western food… in a hospital.
We are really missing home.
Lots of love, Lyle and Angela and Dennis

Glad to hear your back on the mend after the operation. Your analogy of the hospital food only goes to prove my theory that they do this on purpose to keep you from coming back. Their the only business I know who doesn’t want repeat customers. Not a bad model if they can do their job right. Anyway just a note to let you know we’re enjoying your incredible journal and we look forward to taking time out at work to check on the needle count and updates on your progress. Take care and we’re praying for you and your entourage.

Sounds like your Hallowe’en getup deserved more than potatoes and I’m sorry that we can’t promise you any leftover popcorn balls because one of us in this household can’t let leftover popcorn balls hang around (the female member of the household sadly). No willpower! We look forward to your ongoing messages from China and will be so glad when you are back home. As for the food, I am thinking that Western food Chinese style may be preferable to the real thing if my kids’ experience over there with fish heads, snake, and chicken feet is any indication of what you could be receiving. Hey, as long as it is nutritious! You are an amazing spirit, Lyle!
Love,
Bill and Liz-Anna
Hey Lyle, Glad to hear you’re doing well after getting all those needles. (ouch!!) How long will they continue to do the acupuncture? I loved the pictures that you’re dad sent. Look forward to more if he’s able. Maybe you guys should get Darren to bring some tv dinners. After this I bet they’ll even taste good. Have a great weekend. Love, Dawna
Hey Pin Cushion.
Dear Pin Cushion
Hey Lyle—- Acupunture is ALL GOOD. You have 7 days to put your order in for food from HOME, courtesy of your step- brother. So Lyle, should we send things like tinned ham, your Dad can buy potatoes to make a dinner to go with the ham. Scalloped potates are probably out of the question unti you get home, and then I will bring you a big pan full. Darren can bring cheese and crackers, that should keep for 10 hours on an aircraft. WHAT ELSE!! Dawna thought TV dinners, but they would defrost, so CAN THAT !! How about Brie, I can send that. Do you have wine over there to go with the cheese? Do they have Campbells Soup, if not, we can send a case, tell me what kind you like. Keep the faith, Love Mary Lou xoxoxoxoxoxo
